How to fix freezing or lagging video on TV Screens that is part of a playlist campaign

Problem

I experience issues with freezing or lagging videos that are part of a playlists  campaign on TV screens 

 

Solution

  1. Create a new Remote DS campaign with the same content
  2. Under What tab change the Native Video Player option to YES

 

Use Native Video Player : NO Use Native Video Player : Yes
Default option - It will display all videos that are part of the playlist in web-view It will display all videos that are part of the playlist in the native android player

 

pros: 

It will work with synchronised video and the transition between elements will be smoother.

pros:

Videos will run without freezing or lagging

cons: 

Some TV boxes do not handle videos in the web-view well and freezing of some of the content might occur.

Note: Try to update the web-view or switch to Use Native Video Player to YES. 

cons:

- Conflicts with synchronized video may occur

- Transition between videos and other elements will NOT be smooth because of the switch from WebView to native video player.
